About Me

My name is Monica Borel. I was born and raised in California, then completed my university studies in Colorado, Texas, France, and Switzerland. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Rice University of Houston, Texas. I am English-French bilingual.

My interest in supporting women during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood began in 2008. I became a Certified Labor Doula (CLD) and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) after completing the comprehensive programs offered by Childbirth International. I have additional certification as a hypnodoula through the Hypnobabies program.

Birth work particularly appeals to me because of its holistic nature. It challenges me emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling job than helping women have meaningful, satisfying birth and breastfeeding experiences.

My other hobbies include reading, running, and photography.

I am a mother to two wonderful children, and the wife of a very supportive husband.
